Frequently Asked Questions
We’ve gathered the most common questions about the creation process, pricing, formats, timing, and delivery. If anything remains unclear or if your project requires something special, feel free to reach out — we’re here to help you every step of the way.
Ready to begin your artwork?
Choose the option that suits you best.
What is Monsieur Couleur?
Monsieur Couleur is a custom art studio that transforms your photos, memories, and stories into unique artworks. Each project is tailored to you — from the composition and style to the final format.
How does the process work from start to finish?
Every project starts with a conversation. You share your idea and photos, we prepare a personalized proposal (pack + format + timeline + price), you validate and pay securely online, and then the artwork creation begins. You review the result, we refine it if needed, and finally we deliver your artwork in the format you selected.
Do all projects have to start online?
No. You can either start through the online form (Start Online) or book a call (Start on Call). Choose the option that feels most comfortable for you.
What is a Creative Pack?
A Creative Pack defines the level of artistic work involved in your project — the complexity of the composition, the amount of customization, the number of revisions, and the overall time invested in your artwork. It does not include the printing format itself.
Do I need to choose a Creative Pack before contacting you?
No. You can simply share your idea first. We’ll recommend the Creative Pack that best fits your project and your budget, and include it in your personalized proposal.
Are the prices on the website final?
Prices shown on the website give you a clear estimate of the cost of each Creative Pack and available formats. Your final quote may vary depending on the specific details of your project, but everything is confirmed with you before you pay.
When do I pay?
You pay only after receiving and approving your personalized proposal. Once you validate the pack, format, and price, you can complete payment securely online and the creation process begins.
Can I pay in several steps or in different currencies?
Depending on your location and the payment provider used, several options may be available. If you have specific needs, please mention them when you contact us.
What formats do you offer?
We offer a wide range of formats: digital files, art prints, posters, canvases, framed prints, textiles (art wear), and custom objects. The Pricing page shows a selection of formats, but more options are available on request.
Can I order a digital-only version?
Yes. You can choose to receive a high-resolution digital file only, which you can print locally for personal use.
Are printed artworks signed or delivered with a certificate of authenticity?
Printed formats are not signed and do not come with a certificate of authenticity. For fully hand-painted original works or special projects, signing and certification can be discussed and specified in your proposal.
Can I combine several formats in one project?
Yes. For example, you can commission one artwork and receive it as both a large wall piece and a smaller printed version or wearable piece. Just mention it when you start your project.
What kind of photos do you need?
Clear photos where the key people or elements are visible are ideal. They don’t have to be perfect — we can often work with older or imperfect images, as long as the subject remains recognizable.
Can you combine several photos into one artwork?
Yes. We can merge multiple photos into a single composition (for example, people who were not together in the original pictures). This will be taken into account when we recommend the right Creative Pack.
Can you work from old or low-resolution photos?
In many cases, yes. We’ll review your photos and tell you what is realistically possible. Sometimes, we may ask for additional images to ensure the best result.
Can you include text, names, or dates in the artwork?
Yes, we can integrate meaningful words, names, or dates in a subtle or visible way, depending on your preferences and the chosen style.
How many revisions are included?
Each Creative Pack includes a certain number of revisions, depending on the level of customization. This will be clearly indicated in your proposal. Revisions are used to refine the artwork based on your feedback (details, colors, composition, etc.).
What can be changed during revisions?
Revisions are there to adjust the details: colors, textures, balance of the composition, expressions, small elements you want more or less visible. Major direction changes after validation of the concept may require an additional fee, which will always be discussed with you beforehand.
What if I’m not happy with the result?
Our goal is for you to feel emotionally connected to your artwork. We use your feedback during the revision phase to get as close as possible to what you had in mind. If something doesn’t feel right, we talk it through and find the best way to adjust within the scope of your pack.
How long does it take to complete an artwork?
Most artworks are completed within 3–4 weeks, depending on the Creative Pack and the complexity of the project. Your personalized proposal will include an estimated timeline.
However if you need a specific deadline we can see what is doable to reach your goal.
Can you accommodate urgent deadlines or specific dates?
A: In many cases, yes. If you need your artwork completed for a birthday, anniversary, wedding, or another important occasion, tell us your deadline as soon as possible.
We’ll review your project and see what is realistically achievable to help you reach your goal.
How long does delivery take for printed and original artworks?
Printed artworks:
– Clothes: 10–17 days
– Posters: 3–4 days
– Framed Posters: 7–9 days
– Canvas: 5–8 days
Original artworks:
– Shipped from Japan via DHL: 7–10 days worldwide
Delivery times are similar across Europe, North America, and Asia.
If you need your artwork for a specific date, contact us early so we can assess what’s doable.
Do you ship worldwide?
Yes. We ship worldwide with tracking and reinforced packaging to protect your artwork during transport.
How much is shipping?
Shipping costs depend on your location, the chosen format, and the size of the artwork. These details are clearly listed in your personalized proposal before you confirm your order.
Can I reproduce or share my artwork?
You are free to display your artwork at home and share photos of it on social media, always crediting the artist when possible. For any commercial use (merchandising, resale, branding, etc.), a specific written agreement is required.
Do I own the copyright of the artwork?
No. The artist retains the copyright to the artwork and may use images of the piece in their portfolio or communication (unless you request otherwise for privacy reasons). However, you own the physical piece or the licensed digital file for personal use.
Can I offer a commissioned artwork as a gift?
Absolutely. Custom artworks make meaningful gifts. You can either commission it directly for someone or offer a project to start together later. We can help you find the best way to present it.
Need more clarity before starting?
If you need more clarity at any stage, we’re only one message away.
